Typically, weddings should be delightful. The lavish cuisine, soaking up the decor, taking in the ambiance, eagerly getting up for the occasion, and donning party attire are all things to adore.

Frequently, things go differently than expected or as intended. In extreme circumstances, some embarrassing situations could arise that cause you to grit your teeth in despair. Individuals had the opportunity to share some cringe-worthy wedding tales. These ten tales stood out.

1. The Cake Saga

What was supposed to be the party’s highlights turned into an avoidable drama; only if the groom had listened to the bride. The groom knew exactly what the bride wanted: no cake in the face. But he ignored her wishes and smeared a slice of cake all over her face. The bride was furious and yelled at him before storming off to a back area of the reception.

Her bridesmaids and mother prevented the groom from following her. He was left sitting awkwardly at the head table while half the wedding party rushed to the bride’s aid. She stayed hidden for an hour before allowing the groom to check on her.

This groom was lucky. Some other person narrated how a not-so-lucky groom got a punch from the bride for disregarding her wish of not smearing cakes in her face, deteriorating into a fistfight between the couple that soon involved much of the wedding party and guests.

2. The Late Bride

Can you imagine being in a wedding that never happens? So this bride, according to one user, shows up extremely late to her wedding in Southern California, leaving the guests sweltering in an open field with no water or shade. When she finally arrives, she shocks everyone by showing up in her yoga outfit and insisting on getting married.

The groom refused to follow her plan and asked her to change into her wedding dress. However, the bride refused to comply, causing the groom to make a tough decision. Ultimately, he chose to leave her, and the wedding got called off.

3. The Long Groom Speech

The groom’s speech is your chance to thank guests, express love for the new wife, and tell guests how much you appreciate them being there. But this groom had other plans. During the wedding reception, the groom gave a speech thanking everyone for their attendance.

Still, it quickly turned into a roast of his new brother-in-law. Despite their friendship, the groom made several cringe remarks implying that he would be intimate with his new bride later that evening.

The brother-in-law appeared to take it in stride. Still, the guests, particularly the elderly relatives from his side of the family, were not amused. The comments left an uncomfortable feeling and detracted from the joyous occasion.

4. The Overly Generous Bride

This bride willingly shares something personal with all her guests. Only that it made several of them lose their appetite. At the reception line, after the church wedding ceremony: The bride had a large bottle of her favorite perfume and sprayed each guest with it – female and male, whether they wanted it or not – as they entered the banquet hall.

Some guests complained that the smell of perfume was so strong that they lost their appetite and couldn’t partake in the banquet. The bride said she loved the fragrance and wanted “to share that ‘love’ with everyone celebrating with her.

5. Singing Vows

It would have been a great scene to see couples singing their vows to each other. Something out of the ordinary makes for a spicy event. However, someone mentions how cringe-worthy it was seeing one pair sing their vows in horrible voices over autotune microphones.

Their vow songs shared an awful chorus, and they expected the guests to sing along. Worse still, the vow singing dragged on for 20 minutes.

6. The Drunk Bride

One wedding vendor tells how he watched a bride get drunk at her wedding and sit on another male’s lap for two hours while flirting with them. All the while, the groom sat by himself at the head table with a defeated look.

7. The Talkative Pastor

The pastor made the wedding about himself. He went on about his marriage and his kids for 20 minutes. He talked in detail about his daughter, how she learned to walk, her first words, and his wife. Making the Bride and Groom stand there holding hands for 20 minutes before him, boring the guests with unnecessary details of his love affair with his wife.

8. The “Apple” Couple

This couple was obsessed with apples. They bought an orchard and took the theme to the extreme at their wedding, with apples everywhere. They even had an apple-shaped cake. But their obsession didn’t last, and they sold the orchard a few years later.

9. Boring Dance Steps

This user’s cousin performed a “fake out” first dance, in which the couple initially danced to a slow song before switching to more energetic music.

The five-minute length of the lively song, during which they merely repeated the identical actions, was particularly cringeworthy. Finally, there was no way to numb the agony because alcohol was unavailable during the wedding.

10. The Name Revealing Wedding

This couple decided to go through with a name change because they didn’t want their past to define them. As often believed. Yet, they only changed their name in the vain hope that they could escape their massive debt. Nevertheless, their identities were exposed during the ceremony, the narrator claims.
